Enterovirus Division
Introduction
The Enterovirus Division has WHO Accredited National Polio Laboratory and National Measles & Rubella Laboratory. It carries out Waste-water Surveillance for Polio, COVID-19 and Other Viruses. It provided diagnostic tests for Epstein Barr Virus, Parvo-B19 Virus, Mumps and Varicella-Zoster Virus.

The Division is also carrying out the Project “Genomic monitoring of COVID-19 through Waste Water Surveillance“

These activities provide laboratory evidence for certification of the Polio-Free Status of India.
National Measles & Rubella Laboratory, NCDC, Delhi
- Measles and Rubella Surveillance (Delhi, Haryana, Uttarakhand, Western Uttar Pradesh, Parts of Rajasthan & Madhya Pradesh).
- Continuous Serological and Genomic Surveillance to determine the circulating genotypes.
- These activities will help in achieving the Measles Elimination goal of the country.
Immuno-diagnostic Services
Diagnostic tests for viruses such as Mumps, Varicella Zoster, Parvo Virus B19, Epstein Barr Virus.
Environmental Surveillance for SARS-CoV-2 and Other Priority Pathogens
The Division is carrying out the Project: “Genomic monitoring of COVID-19 through Waste Water Surveillance”.
Estimation of SARS-CoV-2 titers from wastewater from designated sites in Delhi.
Hospital wastewater surveillance for SARS-CoV-2.
